Dave's PhotoJournal for September 24th, 2005, Part 1 of 2

Back Up Part 2

Summary

Part 1, Around Whistler

As mentioned on the previous page, we spent most of the earlier part of the day wandering around Whistler itself. See the captions for more detail...

Looking at the hot tub on the back porch of our condo.

View from the patio in back.

View while walking around the complex where our condo was. I guess it was more of a townhouse than a condo.

Crossing the street over to the north part of Whistler Village.

Big peaks everywhere.

Some parking lot near the village.

More random views.

Some nice, colorful grass. I took a few pictures of this stuff.

There is some funky jpeg artifact action going on here. That happened when I shrunk this image down from its original size to a size good for the photojournal.

A couple more pictures of the spiky grass.

Fall-colored leaves, close up. As you can see, my camera had a couple issues, in this shot and the next one. I never did figure out what was wrong.

Walking through the northern part of Whistler village. Again, notice the messed up camera effects.

They pipe some of the river water from one or other of the nearby creeks through the village. It's all milky because of all the minerals in it.

Nice red tree.

I'm such a sucker for these deep red trees.

We stumbled upon a little park next to one of the creeks. So we sat on the rocks for awhile. This is a picture of Julie, using the flash.

Julie without the flash.

Me next to the creek.

Actually looking at the camera this time.

One more.

In the upper village now. I think this is Club Intrawest, a big timeshare thing. They had it nicely landscaped, so I took a few pictures.

More of Club Intrawest.

Random flowers along the walkway.

Yellow and purple.

Lots of different colors.

Fall color. I'm such a sucker for this kind of stuff.

This picture can be seen in Rate Dave's Photos.

Near.

Far.

All jumbled together.

This picture can be seen in Rate Dave's Photos.

More fall color in the Club Intrawest complex.

Three distinct fall colors, in fact.

Back down to the parking lot of the marketplace, at the northern edge of the village. That's Blackcomb in the background.
